About MsPOSSUM
Purpose
MsPOSSUM — Mississippi Population Outcomes, Surveillance, Statistics, and Utility Mapper is a suite of public-health data tools. The suite is designed to help public health teams explore population denominators, survey measures, geographic context, and project-specific data products from a consistent interface.
How the suite is organized
Each tool focuses on a specific analytic workflow. The shared header, visual theme, and resource menu keep navigation consistent while allowing each app to use the layout and controls its data requires.
Data context
The tools draw from public sources such as Census population estimates, SEER population files, CDC BRFSS, CDC PLACES, Mississippi health statistics resources, and geospatial reference layers.
Use of results
Outputs are intended for exploration, planning, and reporting support. Users should verify critical figures against official source publications before using them for formal decisions.
